Dr. Sherry Manansingh, Ed.D, MS, RN, Co-President and Co-Founder
Dr. Manansingh academic career and achievements plays a significant role in her passion for education. She earned a doctorate degree from the Educational Leadership and Technology Doctoral program from St. John’s University in NY. Dr. Manansingh is a registered nurse, she earned her BS and MS from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue NY and an AAS from Farmingdale State College, Farmingdale NY. She was awarded the President’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award for outstanding and dedicated service in fostering educational opportunities and an inclusion campus environment. She was also awarded the Circle of Excellence award in teaching. She has a passion for education, dedicated to students’ success. Dr. Manansingh is a nursing educator, curriculum writer, researcher, published author and leader. She also enjoys teaching, writing, reading, traveling, painting and crafting.
Dr. Laura Ficarra, Co-President and Co-Founder
With an undeniable passion for writing, teaching and learning, Dr. Laura Ficarra has made it her mission to have her students become lifelong lovers of learning especially in reading and writing. She has been a distinguished educator, curriculum writer, researcher, published author, and educational leader for over twenty years. Dr. Laura Ficarra is a National Writing Project Consultant and has won awards in creative writing. Dr. Ficarra’s academic journey includes notable milestones such as her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Technology from St. John’s University in NY, MS in Elementary Education from Dowling College in Oakdale, NY, and her BA from SUNY Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY in social sciences. She spends time traveling between New York and Florida with her adult daughter. She enjoys reading and writing, traveling, yoga, reiki, and most of all painting. She has had eight art exhibitions mostly in New York City.
Carina Kohn, Editorial Director
Carina Kohn is a multi-genre writer, editor, and educator from New York. She received an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from Stony Brook University and a BA in English at SUNY New Paltz. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Editor of Moonlighting by Lit Pub, and is a Contributing Poetry Editor for the Incognito Press. In 2023, she was an Artist-in-Residence at the Watermill Center, and she is a top prize recipient for 2022’s Money for Women in Fiction: Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.
